Volunteering With Us

What to Expect as a Volunteer

Volunteering with PBC EduAid doesn't require any special qualifications — just a willingness to show up and contribute to events that directly benefit students in your community. Most of our volunteer opportunities fall into a few categories: event-day support (helping set up, distribute items, and manage logistics during outreach events), content and documentation (photography, social media, and storytelling to help us share our impact), and coordination (helping plan and organize upcoming events, liaising with partner schools and student unions).

First-time volunteers typically join us for a single event to get a feel for our work before committing to ongoing involvement. Many of our most active volunteers started this way — attending one Pad a Girl Child distribution or school visit, and finding the experience meaningful enough to want to continue. We try to make the onboarding process as low-friction as possible: a short orientation covering what to expect, safety guidelines, and your role for the day.

We particularly welcome volunteers who are themselves university students — not only do you bring energy and relatability when working with secondary school students, but volunteering with EduAid is also a meaningful way to build your own profile for future scholarship and leadership opportunities, including potential connections to PB Cambridge Consult's broader network for students interested in studying abroad.

If you're part of a corporate organization or professional group looking for a team volunteering opportunity, we can also arrange group participation in upcoming events — a great way to combine team building with genuine community impact. Reach out to discuss scheduling and group size requirements for corporate volunteer days.

Beyond Volunteering

Other Ways to Support Our Mission

If volunteering your time isn't feasible, there are other meaningful ways to support EduAid's mission. Sharing our programs on social media helps us reach more potential volunteers, donors, and partner institutions. Recommending EduAid to schools, student unions, or organizations in your network who might benefit from or want to support our programs extends our reach. And simply staying informed about the challenges facing Nigerian students — and talking about them — helps build broader awareness of issues like period poverty and educational welfare gaps that often go unaddressed in public conversation.

Looking After Our Team

Volunteer Safety and Support

Every EduAid event includes a designated coordinator responsible for volunteer safety, logistics, and ensuring the day runs smoothly. Volunteers receive clear briefings before each event covering their specific role, any safety considerations relevant to the venue or activity, and contact information for the event coordinator throughout the day. We value our volunteers' time and contribution, and we're committed to ensuring every volunteer experience with EduAid is positive, well-organized, and meaningful.
